The service was first shared with the Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation in Evanston, Illinois on June 3, 2011 with the renowned Maxwell Street Klezmer Band, and the Sweet Sisters, a trio of teen singers including Billy’s daughter, Hannah.

Shabbat Sweet became a Kickstarter funded project in June, 2013. Billy worked with Steve Rashid, the Emmy Award-winning producer, members of the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band, and a host of legendary musicians to capture the rich, soaring spirit of Shabbat Sweet.
